James Michaud was a talented artist and metalworker based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, known for his custom metal and wood creations. As the owner and operator of Michaud Iron and Wood Design, he collaborated closely with his father, Jim Michaud of Iron Jim Design, to craft bespoke furniture and signage for both residential and commercial clients. James’s work was characterized by a blend of industrial aesthetics and functional design, often incorporating elements of Lancaster’s rich craftsmanship heritage.
Beyond his artistic endeavors, James was a dedicated educator and coach. He taught social studies at Manheim Township Middle School for 15 years and coached junior high wrestling for over a decade. His commitment to his students and community left a lasting impact. James passed away on October 7, 2023, at the age of 39, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, craftsmanship, and community engagement.
